RCB has a decent start to their IPL 2025 campaign, as the balance of the team looks almost settled

RCB has a good start to their IPL 2025 campaign. The side led by Rajat Patidar consists of superstar players like Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, and Tim David. The team has managed to win 8 out of their first 11 matches of this campaign.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru currently sit at the top spot in the 2025 IPL Points table. RCB has 16 points to their name. They are 1 point ahead of the 2nd-placed Punjab Kings (PBKS). Further, 2 points clear of the 3rd and 4th-placed teams, Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT), respectively.

RCB crushed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 6 wickets in their opening game of the season at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The team backed it up with another stellar away-from-home performance against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a highly anticipated Southern derby at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. This time defending 196, RCB managed to restrict CSK to 146.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru suffered a loss in their third match of the IPL 2025, against GT. However, the team bounced back by registering a 12-run win over MI in their fourth outing of the campaign.

In the next seven matches, RCB lost two (RCB vs DC, and RCB vs PBKS) and won five (RR vs RCB, PBKS vs RCB, RCB vs RR, DC vs RCB, and RCB vs CSK). The latest of their wins came against the Chennai Super Kings.

Talking about what played an important part in enabling the team to be in this position on the points table and looking strong and promising is their balanced playing 11. Even though there’s still a decent chunk of matches to be played in this year’s edition of the IPL, RCB’s combination in different areas looks settled.

With Phil Salt and Virat Kohli opening the batting for the team, and both being in decent nick of form, the opening combination does look threatening for any opposition. Moreover, Royal Challengers Bengaluru has Indian talents like Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar to back up the opening pair.

Overseas players like Liam Livingstone, Tim David are pretty capable of finishing an innings off. Also, options like Jitesh Sharma and all-rounders like Krunal Pandya and Romario Shepherd add depth to the team.

The bowling department looks experienced with season campaigners like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood leading the attack. In addition to that, Royal Challengers Bengaluru has a successful IPL bowler, Yash Dayal, who can back up the senior bowlers.

When one comes onto the spinners, all-rounder Krunal Pandya provides the option of the finger spinner with his street-smart game awareness. Liam Livingstone has become a feasible wrist spinner these days. 21-year-old leg-spinner Suyash Sharma is an exciting new addition to the team’s roster.
