Chad Powers – Hulu’s new sports comedy-drama series with Glen Powell in the lead- witnessed its release on September 30. The first two episodes of the series are out. Chad Powers’ first season will consist of six episodes in total. As of now, it appears to be a limited series, but who knows, there might be a second season in the makers’ plans.

Talking about Episode 1 titled ‘FIRST QUARTER‘ of the series, the premise and Glen Powell’s acting performance manage to hook a viewer from the word go. With a plot being very direct and impactful, everything else then flows into this orchestrated sync that makes the season opener of Chad Powers a pleasant watch.

Glen Powell initially plays the character of ‘Russ Holliday’, someone who can’t catch a break in his football career after a hostile turn of events during his days as a college quarterback. Russ then disguises himself as ‘Chad Powers’ to enable himself to be a part of the Southern football side that is in a dire situation in terms of performance.

What shines in this sports comedy drama is the way it has been crafted. The screenplay hardly sees any dull moments. The pacing of the story is remarkable enough to keep the audience highly engaged and waiting for the next scene. Glen Powell himself is one of the creators of the show alongside Michael Waldron.

The entertainment metrics are really high in Chad Powers. The comedy-drama series excels in a sharp and entertaining execution of a story and plot that can get a bit monotonous if not handled with care. However, attention to small details, polished dialogues, and humorous references make the show even more watchable.

The transformation of Glen Powell from Russ Holliday to Chad Powers and the initial bit of him featuring in the Southern football team’s tryouts is quite enjoyable. The idea of the protagonist giving his football career a second chance carries an impactful persona. The makers manage to take this very zeal and ignite the things to follow.

Upon initial look, Hulu’s new sports comedy drama does appear to be a delightful and memorable watch. It remains to be seen how the series progresses from here on. If its upcoming episodes are anything like its opening one, viewers are definitely in for a treat.
