Maintenance Required has seen its official release on Prime Video on Wednesday, October 8. The Amazon MGM Studios‘ movie stars Madelaine Petsch and Jacob Scipio in the lead. There is a bit of evident buzz surrounding the rom-com’s release. The movie directed by Lacey Uhlemeyer doesn’t disappoint in delivering the content that it promised in its trailer.

The story, the dialogues, the plot-building, the characters, the background score, and most importantly, the screenplay, everything perfectly blends in Maintenance Required. Lately, there have been incidences of romantic comedy movies being too one-sided, following the old patterns of storyline. But this Amazon MGM rom-com does offer something a bit different.

There are also moments in the movie when viewers can feel the sentiments, emotions of the main characters. This all can only be achieved when a script is tightly constructed and doesn’t divert from its path. The performances of Madelaine Petsch, who we last saw in ‘The Strangers: Chapter 2‘, and Jacob Scipio stand out.

Maintenance Required is entertaining and swoon-worthy

The story follows a limited background of the female lead character, ‘Charlie’, played by Madelaine Petsch, running an old family garage. Charlie, when faced with the male lead character ‘Beau’ played by Jacob Scipio, doesn’t know that he is one of the personnel from the other big firm that might eat up her local street store/business.

However, there lies another twist as there is another way through which Madelaine Petsch’s character knows ‘Beau’ but doesn’t know it’s really him. So, the slow budding and swoon-worthy romance between the lead characters faces a bit of a roadblock. But, the way all these scenarios cruise along in the movie, they seem light-hearted and entertaining in an involving sort of way.

The chemistry between Jacob Scipio and Madelaine Petsch through their characters seems really fresh and sizzling on screen. Both have been able to grasp the sincerity of their roles. Katy M.O’Brian as ‘Kam’ and Madison Bailey as ‘Izzy’ (serving as the store colleagues to Petsch’s character) have also played their parts well.
