Bryan Mbeumo scored twice as Manchester United successfully edged past Brighton at Old Trafford in the Premier League. The win against the Seagulls marked the Red Devils’ third straight win in the top tier of English football. Rúben Amorim‘s Man United earlier defeated Sunderland at home before getting a statement win over Liverpool at Anfield.
Man United smashed Brighton via a notable scoreline of 4-2. Apart from Bryan Mbeumo netting a brace, Matheus Cunha and Casemiro also scored. Performing under pressure and consistency has been an issue for Man United under Ruben Amorim. However, following their win against Liverpool with another stunning performance, hints of subtle improvements in the team.
United once led Brighton by three goals to nil. A Danny Welbeck strike at the 74th minute and a 92nd-minute goal from Charalampos Kostoulas made things a little uncomfortable for Ruben Amorim’s team. The scoreline suddenly went from 3-0 to 3-2.
A late goal by Bryan Mbeumo helped secure all three points for Manchester United

In the added time of the 97th minute, Mbeumo struck again to give the Red Devils an unassailable lead of 4-2, securing all three points and a third straight league win in a row. The forward followed his 61st-minute goal with another well-timed finish to bag a brace. The win against Brighton lands the Red Devils in the 4th spot in the 2025-26 Premier League table for the time being.
This marks a drastic turn of fortune for Ruben Amorim and his side after a slow and dismal start to the season. Having said that, there’s still a lot to improve for Man United. The club will next face a stern test in the league as they will come up against Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. A trip to Tottenham then awaits Ruben Amorim and United.
It will be interesting to see how long the Red Devils can keep their unbeaten run in the Premier League alive. Players like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have struck form just at the right time for Amorim. So, things do look promising at this stage. Man United’s last three wins have come from Amorim’s preferred formation of 3-4-3 (3-4-2-1).
