The F1 movie has proved that you can make a film by picking up a sports topic, yet make it look authentic and realistic. Director Joseph Kosinski has delivered one of the most memorable Brad Pitt movies of all time, and certainly so far, the movie of the year 2025.

It was quite evident from the movie’s marketing and pre-release build-up that the aim was to put out not just a movie based on F1, but a movie that would showcase the same thrill on the big screen that the F1 sport provides its audience, without compromising on any aspect.

Additionally, what makes F1 The Movie one of the finest in recent years to come out of Hollywood is Brad Pitt’s performance and some other aspects of the film that stood out.

Brad Pitt has always delivered menacing performances whenever he has come across demanding scripts. Whether it has been his recent movies like ‘Babylon’, ‘Bullet Train’, or a cult classic like ‘Fight Club’, or an assembled cast affair like ‘Ocean’s 11’. However, watching him on-screen in the F1 movie feels like he has really lived this role.

The amount of honesty, hard work, and homework that Pitt has put into this project seems so effortlessly visible on the big screen. To play a role like he has portrayed in F1, at this age, and that too with being in sync with every minor detail of his character, is really commendable.

The script is sharp, the shots are authentic, the driving is real, but what’s even more impressive is that audiences while watching the movie is highly unlikely to think that they are watching Brad Pitt, it feels more like they are watching ‘Sonny Hayes’, the character played by the 61-year-old veteran actor throughout the movie.

The first thing that makes the F1 movie stand out in the history of sports-based movies is its authenticity and originality. The Joseph Kosinski-directed flick looks so novel on the big screen. Watching the race scenes in the film feels like watching F1 in real life.

The second quality of F1 The Movie that makes it really impressive is the way in which the movie shows the backdrop of the F1 racing world. What goes on behind the scenes, how the teams prepare for different races, and what kind of engineering skills are related to putting out a perfect car on the track are meticulously shown on the big screen without any filter.

The third and most enhancing aspect of the F1 movie is its music. The veteran composer ‘Hans Zimmer’ has given a kind of music to the film that acts as icing on the cake. Right from the movie’s opening credits to the race sequence in the climax, the subtle yet masterful background score doubles the effect of the scenes.

The motion picture soundtrack also has songs from some of the most talented current singers, with names like Ed Sheeran, Don Toliver, and Tate McRae involved. F1 The Movie is currently playing in theaters and is soaring at the box office both internationally and domestically.
